"We stayed at Whakatane at the end of April, 2010, and found it to be delightful.  Immaculately clean and neat, with a short field walk to the pounding surf - it had all the mod cons we always hope for when we rent.  Dianne and her family made us welcome, gave us good tips for walks, etc, and generally made us feel very much at home during our stay. We recommend this location very highly."

"We wanted to say thank you for staying at your awesome place. travelling in New Zealand by camper van or car is different every day. Sometimes you hit a good place, sometimes not. But meeting people as welcoming and friendly as you are who run a place so nicely like this with love and care is seldom and rare. "When our motel booking fell through, the Visitors Centre suggested this spot.  What luck!  The villa was in perfect condition and the quiet, peaceful location was superb.  We ate our dinner on the verandah looking out to sea and while we sipped the last of our wine after sunset we watched the half moon shine on the waters while the clouds dissipated and re-formed.  Idyllic!  On one morning we walked down to the end of the property and along the beach.  Dianne was both very pleasant and helpful.  She booked our flight out to White Island and guided us through some WiFi problems.   We have no hesitation in highly recommending this place!"

"We had a lovely two night stay here. The location is ideal for a quiet weekend or mid-week break. The villa is just a short stroll to the beach & a few minutes drive to the center of Whakatane. The BBQ area is ideal for a Kiwi Style feed. The beds are comfy and you will wake to the sound of the ocean. If you are visiting Whakatane to try & catch a glimpse of Moko, you couldn't go far wrong with this holiday house."

"We really enjoyed our stay. We decided that Coastal Haven would be especially enjoyable for two couples to spend a week. The villa is comfortable and very well equipped, the view across to White Island tremendous and the pillows the stuff dreams are made of!  It is a really nice combination of a private secluded setting with access to town just a few minutes drive away. Lots of things to do in the area as well."

Myself and my family spent a weekend in October at your villa.

We found the setting and accommodation outstanding.  You have made available a unique slice of New Zealand. Waking to the sound of the waves and birdlife was beautiful.  The villa was extremely comfortable and well thought out.  Everything we could have possibly needed was available. The large deck caught the sun all day with an uninterrupted view over the ocean.

There is no doubt that we will be returning to spend further time at Coastal Haven.
